Morrison Cove rewards those who search it out with a pastoral setting perfect for strolling. It has a strong potential
to be a popular local community focus for picnics, walking and paddling. The property contains a small lake and dock, and
an old walking trail.
Set back from the riverfront next to the Weyerhaeuser Company plant, Morrison Cove was once the site of the town of Chatham's
water pumping station. Paddlers "put in" at the dock on the cove's small lake. Walking trails abound and connect the site
with the nearby Miramichi Golf and Country Club and residential neighbourhoods.
Key Goals and Strategies • Increase site utilization. • Enhance the site's potential
as an intimate, park-like experience.
